The Rock Band Show is a full band & lighting rock concert show, delivered over 2 periods (includes time for discussion). Each song prefaced by dialogue containing practical information around a given topic then combined with an emotional element which is then re-enforced by the music & lyrics. The students become engaged in the topic area firstly through the information presented, then the song is performed that is connected to that given information &/or emotion around the topic.
The show begins with creating a connection to the students & to the overall Environmental topic with songs about nature & environmental appreciation, & then moves through the songs dealing with environmental destruction & consumerism & climate change, natural disaster, that allow for feelings of anger & despair & at times guilt to be relieved. Then moving onto hope, motivation & action with songs presenting areas of change & information linked to ways students can be involved in creating change.
