this show is one of the biggest drawcards for students, being a full rock concert with a professional sound & lighting show. Covering the broad range of topics as described below the video, & there are two different shows with different sets of songs to allow for two shows within the one year. " South Grafton High had the ‘Full Rock Band Awareness Show’ – with Rich Latimer & his band Very Unique Existence at our school. They delivered a very entertaining show and gave powerful messages to the students. The format of a rock band helping with PDH/PE message is a good one and I believed it worked well in our school. The show stimulated weeks of discussion in PDH/PE classes after the show. It was a successful event for our school. Our principal was so impressed in fact that he has booked the show for 2011 and will pay for the whole school to attend! “ -Terry Laybutt Head Teacher PDH/PE South Grafton High School

Social & emotional wellbeing, drink driving, drug & alcohol issues, self esteem, depression, bullying, violence, abuse, loss & bereavement, social & environmental consciousness, positive thinking & decision making.

Very Unique Existence has radio airplay in most parts of Australia & students are aware of the band. This increases the connection between the students & the topics. Students know the band is a real world commercial rock band who simply believe in a better world & life for young people. This level of rapport connects students & creates deeper & longer lasting learning.

As part of the show students are encouraged to reach out not only to staff & support services in their school & community but also to the artists & our teams online via the social media networks. This creates a platform for further discussion & allows students to "Share their Story" on these forums as well as seek help & referral, all mandatory reporting guidelines are followed.

After the show most students take CDs home these CDs the songs & the lyrics are forever linked to the learning outcomes & messages presented at the shows. Each time the listen to the music this is reinforced.

We work with you on making the event a success for the whole school. We look forward to visiting your school!

It has been proven that impacting only a small number within a given community such as a school, limits the ability for those attitude shifts to be maintained & lessen the impact of the given educational outcome. Awareness Shows is unique in it's WHOLE SCHOOL approach. But the result are proof, with many schools seeing school wide shifts in attitudes & lots of feedback & discussion after the shows.

There can never be enough of this type of education!

Schools who can't see the need for youth centred communication approaches & school wide social & emotional wellbeing education like Awareness Shows, are simply not in touch with their student communities or the regional, state and national news. There can never be enough of this type of education, even if it saves one life it's worth it!
