What are Awareness Shows?

“Awareness Shows” are curriculum linked social, emotional & environmental education delivered as music shows & toured to Schools. Presented by real world professional performing musicians who devote time away from their music career to bring this unique & impacting educational approach to students internationally.

Using the unique power of music, our programs cast school wide nets within the two key learning areas below, with a range of aims & outcomes.

1. (Social & Self Awareness) these shows aim to catch students ‘experiencing’, 'at risk' or 'on the brink' of abuse, addiction or socially & emotionally destructive behaviour & shift attitudes at a whole school level towards the topics listed below.

TOPICS: social & emotional wellbeing, drink driving & drug/alcohol issues, self esteem resilience & bullying, physical & emotional abuse, loss & bereavement, consciousness & spiritual health & positive decision making

PROVEN OUTCOMES: Reach outs & support service referrals regarding suicide, drug addition, physical/emotional/sexual abuse & bullying. Shifted whole school attitudes & opened on/offline discussion around the topics.

2. (Environmotional Awareness) these shows aim to create an emotional connection & emotional release along with practical information around the climate change & sustainability issues listed below.

TOPICS: climate change & sustainability, natural disasters, consumerism, indigenous issues, environmental appreciation

PROVEN OUTCOMES: Relieving feelings of anger, fear, despair, guilt, anxiety & depression whilst creating deep motivation, excitement & appreciation around the topics. Providing practical information & connection to organisations making sustainability changes at local national & international levels.

Costs

There is no cost to your School for the Awareness Shows!

Students pay a $7.50 entry fee which is to be collected in advance by the school. Minimum fees apply, however most schools pay for students to attend or shows are often funded by external organisations. The shows are designed as whole school events, so all students should be invited to attend.

Minimum Fees:

Solo Shows $1125 = 150 Students
Solo DVD Shows $1125 = 150 Students
Trio Enviro Shows $1875 = 250 Students
Full Band Shows $5625 = 750 Students

NOTE: the minimum fee is required to secure the booking additional students above the min number are charged at $7.50 per student. Schools do not need to meet the min attendance only the min fee! We supply all promotional materials & our shows average a 400% higher attendance rate than any other programs of it's kind!

Music is one of the most powerful & influential youth communication tools. Over 95% of students own an IPod or music playing device! When surveyed 100% of students said they are influenced by music & look up to the artists as role models 90% could recite the lyrics to their favourite songs! Music impacts students emotionally, psychologically & changes youth attitudes & beliefs at a deep level, many students associate their sense of self with artists they admire.

WHOLE SCHOOL EVENT, LONG LASTING LEARNING & RESULTS!

Designed to be delivered as a whole school event to students from Yr7 to Yr12, thereby maximising school wide learning, impact & value for money. The whole school community is impacted, instead of just a small group. Students connect the songs to the learning outcomes & the positive messages are reinforced every time they listen to the music! We also maintain communication with students via online social networking, to support continued positive decision making. There are blog's that release regular Social, Self & Environmental Awareness information & allow for student input!.

The results have been amazing with many young people, reaching out & seeking the help they need after a show on & off-online, for a range of issues connected to the topics. Students also join in after a show to share their thoughts & support each other on improved life style choices. There is an online Blog used to keep reinforcing the positive messages that students can become a part of where discussions & information sharing also occur!
